7days 7palletsurban decay benefit maybelline loreal mua

I have a lot of pallets, mostly drugstore and I definitely have my favourites! I find that I get stuck in an eyeshadow rut though and reach for the trusty urban decay naked basics as it is such a fantastic everyday pallet. I challenged myself to use a mixture all week to remind myself what I love and hate about pallets and which ones might work best for everyone.

Loreal - La Palette Nude
best For; Packaging
Not the best; Pigment

this pallet is absolutely gorgeous, the packaging and colour selection really set this apart from the competition. I opted for the peachy colours and used a purple eyeliner to contrast against which is a look I have been loving this summer. The downside is if your looking for bold punchy pigment this will not be for you however this does leave a beautiful veil of colour and is far from chalky in consistency. Loreals La palette nude comes in 2 shades (beige and rose) I chose rose and this retails at £14.99 which I would say is right in the middle of cheap and expensive.

Maybelline - The Nudes
Best for; Blendability
Not the best; packaging
This is probably the newest offering in my collection and I adore Maybelline the nudes palette! I really struggled to pick a bad point about this but as it is £9.99 I think the packaging isn't really up to much. The colours are gorgeous and rich so easy to apply and blend! I also think the colours in this palette are really great if like me you have blue eyes as the contrast really makes my eyes stand out. Also comes in 'the smokes' but I am yet to see this anywhere.

Benefit - Peek a bright eyes
Best for; Travel
Not the best; colour choice
I love the formulation of the shadows in this Benefit peek a bright eyes and I love that this is more of a kit than a palette which makes it great for travelling. The packaging is bold and would make a lovely gift. My favourite thing about this palette is the stunning rich brown shade which I use a lot with other shadows. at £25.50 this is the highest priced palette and you don't really get a wide selection of colours but it is benefit and the quality of the shadows really is up there!

Collection - eyes uncovered palette
Best for; Price
Not the best; definition
I have wrote a full review on this palette as I was overall a little disappointed with collections eyes uncovered palette as I had heard amazing things. It is fantastic if you are on a budget as you can pick one of these up for only £3.99 which is astonishing as you get 6 shades and not only that but there are three different palettes to pick from (nude, nude bronze and nude grey) I have nude. I just struggled to get a nice defined contour with this and as a result I rarely reach for this.

Urban Decay - Naked Basics
Best for; every day
Not the best; for shimmer fans
I don't have a bad word to say about Urban decay naked basics palette. Its the only Urban decay palette I own and I use it at least once a week. Its really versatile as you can use some of these shades for your eyebrows too and the quality of the shadows is phenomenal. If I had to say one bad thing it would be that there is only one shimmer shade in this palette which is a highlight shade but honestly, for an everyday palette I couldn't be happier. This palette is £23 which is up there in price but I think it is worth every penny.

Make up revolution - Iconic 3
Best for; Dupes
Not the best; Matte shades
Make up revolution are notorious for making amazing and cheap dupes of high end favourites and this iconic 3 palette contends with Urban decays naked 3 palette. The colours are nearly identical boasting Rosy golds and pearly pinks and at only £4 the value of this palette is superb. The packaging leaves a lot to be desired but as its less than a fiver It doesn't bother me but I just wish the matte shades weren't so chalky as I don't use them for this reason however the shimmer shades are sublime.

MUA eyeshadow palette - Undressed
Best for; colour diversity
Not the best; for fallout
I thought with the last palette I would go out with a bang and attempt a cut crease look with this bargain from MUA. This palette only costs £4 and is my oldest and most used eyeshadow palette. I love the colour selection you get in this one palette. you have golds, pinks and blues in a selection of shimmers and mattes its amazing value. The only downside is as these shades are super pigmented they do tend to allow a lot of fallout which can be a pain. I usually do my under eye concealer after using this palette.

So which one is your favourite look? do you have a favourite palette?
